San Francisco, CA, February 2, 2012 – Marshmallow Mischief (www.marshmallow-
mischief.com), a maker of all-natural, gluten-free gourmet marshmallow treats, announces its sponsorship of the Academy of Friends 2012 Gala: A ‘Scandalous’ Benefit for Bay Area HIV/AIDS organizations.

Finally, a chance to celebrate all of your scandalous behavior!

On February 26th, gourmet marshmallow treat purveyor Marshmallow Mischief, (who are known for their amazing gluten-free gourmet goods and are no stranger to scandalous, irreverent marketing) will be sponsoring The Academy of Friends 32nd Annual Gala: A Scandalous Benefit for Bay Area HIV/Aids organizations.

The Academy of Friends is known for their dedication to improving the lives of those affected with HIV/AIDS.  By keeping their events fresh and exciting, they are able to inspire the community and create lasting partnerships in the Bay Area to help out with their cause.

This year’s Scandalous Gala is a prime example.

Academy of Friends is extremely excited to have Marshmallow Mischief as a food sponsor for our 32nd Annual Academy Awards Night Gala benefitting AIDS Services.

When Marshmallow Mischief creator Sarah Berchild (a long time supporter of the Academy of Friends and who is known in the community for her dedication to giving back) heard about the event, she jumped at the chance to become a sponsor. “The scandalous theme just had me from the start.  What a fun way to become a part of such an important cause! After walking the red carpet and while enjoying the show, what better way to top off the evening than with a mischievous little treat?”

The treat she is referring to are Marshmallow Mischief’s globally inspired, nostalgia inducing, cleverly packaged gourmet marshmallow rice treats. By mixing her heart and soul with premium ingredients along with animal friendly, preservative and gluten free products, she has created the gold standard when it comes to desserts.  With names like “Tall, Dark and Crispy” and “Sicilian Kiss” they are a perfect addition to an event that teeters towards the side of naughty.

Howard Edelman, Board Chair at the Academy of Friends couldn’t agree more. “Academy of Friends is extremely excited to have Marshmallow Mischief as a food sponsor for our 32nd Annual Academy Awards Night Gala benefitting AIDS Services. When you hold a party every year for 32 years, “fresh and exciting” keep the guests coming back.  Sarah Berchild and the Marshmallow “mischief makers” will play a leading role in helping Academy of Friends raise money this year, making a difference in the lives of thousands of Bay Area people living with HIV.”

The event, which will be held at the San Francisco Design Center Galleria, benefits five agencies including: Huckleberry Youth Programs, Maitri, Shanti, Tenderloin Health and Women’s HIV Program at the University of California, San Francisco.
